Hawaii 5-0 And More

We just got back from spending spring break in Hawaii with the entire family, visiting Oahu / Kauai / Hawaii. The Pearl Harbor visitor center is being entirely rebuilt so it was a mess, but still emotional to see the story and visit the Arizona Memorial (though the girls liked the submarine better). On the island of Kauai we managed to see a lot with the exception of our planned catamaran trip for whale watching and seeing some otherwise inaccessible areas of the island – for reference on what we missed I recommend the new movie “Perfect Getaway”. The trade winds were so strong, Maui had 71 mph on Wednesday, just 4 mph short of a hurricane!

One of our highlights was a helicopter tour of the volcano national park on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was also our nicest resort – too bad we were only there for one day before we headed home. I’ve included some photos for your viewing pleasure. Unfortunately, the strong trade winds made flower photography almost impossible.

Ski The Boat!

A long President’s Day weekend in Steamboat Springs, CO. We missed last winter due to our Australia trip, so it was refreshing and fun to see the girls do so well on the slopes. The adults had some fun, too, as you can see.
